Chief Engineer General Cargo

Chief Engineer for General Cargo vessel wanted to join our vessel on a fixed 8–10 week rotation with opportunities for ongoing rotation planning. This position offers global travel and the chance to work with a dedicated crew on a well-established trading schedule.

Key responsibilities:

• Maintain and supervise the safe and efficient operation of all main and auxiliary machinery and systems aboard the vessel.
• Ensuring compliance with all international and company standards (SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, etc.).
• Plan and manage maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance programs for propulsion, electrical, and auxiliary systems.
• Monitor fuel efficiency, boiler operations, refrigeration, hydraulics, and power generation to optimize performance.
• Oversee watchkeeping and ensure safe engine-room operations during all hours of the voyage.
• Participate in nautical and cargo operations as required; coordinate with the Master on deck operations.
• Maintain accurate logs, records, and reports; ensure compliance with ISM Code and company SMS.
• Manage spare parts inventory and procurement in consultation with ship management.
